Where do the pygmy possums live?
The pygmy possum lives in extensive bolder fields with high elevation and a nearby food source. They live around the border of N.S.W and Victoria because of the granodiorite boulders and basalt boulders. They prefer deep bolder fields with varies sized boulders and reasonable vegetation cover.
What do the pygmy possums eat?
The pygmy possum tends to eat seeds but they also eat bogon moths, shrubs, alpine rice bush, alpine peppers, ribbon grass, several epacris species, dusty daisy bushes, sedges, ferns and fruits. The pygmy possum has a very big list of what they like/will eat.
What does a pygmy possum look like?
The pygmy possum has a white under body, light brown stripes along their arms, a dark brown back and large dark brown eye that almost look like they are black. The average weight of a pygmy possum is 40-45g.the normal length of a pygmy possums body is 11cm and their tail is 14cm which means that the tail of the pygmy possum is longer than their body which is not very common. The tail of a pygmy possum will always curl. The feet of the pygmy possum is yellow and lumpy. The average pygmy possum has around 28 teeth. They also have big eyes and their nose is just under their eyes.

Pygmy possums are unique to Australia and they are protected because they are critically endangered and there are only 2000 left in the wild. They are unique because they are probably the only species in Australia with a tail longer than its body.
